The Elmina Castle is localted Coastal Plain region of Ghana. It was built by Portugal in 1482. Elmina Castle is the oldest European building in Africa and incidentally the oldest slave fort.

At the First established, the Castle used for moving slaves onto ships bound for other parts of the world. It also was the one of the most important stops on the route of the Atlantic slave trade.
