Chichen Itza Travel Review: Chichen Itza is a famous archaeological site in Mexico. It was built since 900 AD by Mayan civilization. The Chichen Itza consists of several pyramids located around the temple and palaces. Currently the site was defined as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The Chichen Itza was recently discovered only 150 years ago. The reason that why they are just discovered it because it is buried underground and overgrown forest surrounded.Currently, archaeologists still working on the site because they believe that there are a lot of pyramids that we have not find it yet. May be the rests are buried underground in somewhere.

Nowadays, Chichen Itza is one of most popular tourist attraction in Mexico, and the number of tourists each year more than 1.2 million people.

How to get there:


Chichen Itza is located in the municipality of Tinum in the Mexican state of Yucatan.

ADO bus service from Cancun costs 180 pesos (one way trip). It takes 3 hours. Also, there are a cheaper bus is available for 117 pesos and with travel time of 4 hours per direction. In case of you located outside of Chichen Itza. You can buy a package from companies organize tours as below:

For easiest way, we recommend you to stay in Cancun city. It is very easily to access Chichen Itza from this city as we mentioned above. As Cancun city is one of most vacation spot in Mexico and Caribbean coast. So, several activities available in this city such as diving, beaches, swim with dolphins, aqua tour etc. So, we believe that you will not get bored for sure.

The Kukulcán Pyramid or El Castillo (The Castle) it is most important and famous pyramid in Chichen Itza.

Templo de los Guerreros; it was built to honor the courage of a Mayan warrior. In this area there are hundreds of Poles which each will have a sculpture of a warrior people.

You do not worry that you will not understand because English descriptions are available for tourist.
This is a statue called Chac Mool (Chuck data). For the definition of the statue still remains as a mystery. No one knows what does it means.
Cenote Sagrado; the width of this place is around 60 meters and it deep into the underground. It occurs naturally. Mayas used to ceremony, and they believe that God lives in the underground. The rituals were throw young women wearing beautiful clothes and jewelry to this hole.
This is the ball court. It is a very large stadium it. It is a sport of the Mayan.
