Bulguksa is located on the slopes of Tohamsan, in Gyeongju. The temple is classified as Historic and Scenic Site No.1 by the South Korean goverment. In 1995, Bulguksa was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site with the Seokguram Grotto.

The temple is considered as a masterpiece of the golden age of Buddhist art in the Silla kingdom. In the Silla period, the temple made up of faith and adherence to Buddhism of Silla people. The temple was built from the mountain rock with beautiful religious architecture and the decoration is very delicate.

The symbols of Bulguksa is the Stairs at the entrance to the temple, which is 33 long step to the top, and it believed that to have been a paradise instead of 33 class. But for now tourists are not allowed to walk up this ladder.

In side the temple you will see the most unique architecture is the stone pagodas. It was built more then 12 centuries. The stone pagodas is located in the east and west of the temple. It is the respect a lot of Korean Buddhist pagodas, this addition is also used to symbolize the back of the 10 won coin used in the present.

The other one corner of the temple, I saw stones various sizes stacked. It belive that, If the sort storied stone and does not fall down, your wish will become true.
